Brechin City v Forfar Athletic - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City welcome Forfar Athletic to Glebe Park for the fourth and final Angus derby between the sides this season.

TEAM NEWS
There are no new injuries reported from the draw against East Fife on Tuesday. There is positive news with Sean Burns coming back into contention after being missing since the Montrose game after fracturing his hand. Although not everyone is entirely match fit, all the players are desperate to play and this sees Barry and Stevie with the largest squad to select for a lengthy period of time. This means that the only definite absentees are Callum Tapping, Jordan Sinclair and Dene Shields.

MANAGER COMMENTS
Barry Smith said, "The lads trained well on Thursday and we continue to have a really positive atmosphere around the squad. We'll give Forfar Athletic every respect, as we know they're flying high and will be dangerous opponents. That said, we're the home side and the onus is on us to dictate the play and do everything we can to get ourselves 3 points."

MATCH OFFICIALS
The man in the middle tomorrow is Steven Kirkland - he will be assisted by Kylie Cockburn and Gary Hanvidge. The last Brechin match Kirkland took charge of was back in August as City went down 2-1 to Peterhead at Balmoor in the Irn Bru Cup.

ADMISSION INFORMATION
The match is not segregated and usual league admission prices apply, they are as follows:

- Adult £15
- Concession £8
- Parent & Child £18

For supporters arriving at the ground early, SPFL title sponsor Ladbrokes have sent a TV crew to film a variety of aspects around the matchday experience at Glebe Park. This will be broadcast on their exclusive Social Media channel in a few weeks time. There will also be a bucket collection outside the turnstiles, raising funds for Dalhousie Daycare Centre.

The City Club bar (situated within the David H Will Stand) will be open to both sets of supporters from 1pm and following the game until approximately 8pm. The bar will be showing live BT Sport coverage of the English Premier League clash between Manchester City and Watford from 5pm.

SPONSORSHIP
The Match has been kindly sponsored by Dundas Training Ltd, and we hope Murray Lindsay and his guests enjoy their Boardroom Hospitality. The Ball Sponsor is long distance City fan Lennie Johnson, who is making his regular pilgrimage from Lerwick to take in the game. The Club also welcomes Hannah Marshall into the Boardroom, along with parents Robin and Fiona.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Forfar Athletic 1-1 Brechin City - 22 September 2018
The last meeting at Station Park saw a share of the spoils. On loan St Johnstone striker Callum Hendry opened the scoring for City on 17 minutes but a headed goal from Michael Travis earned the Loons a point.

Brechin City 4-0 Forfar Athletic - 10 November 2018
The newly appointed Management team of Barry Smith and Stevie Campbell got off to the perfect start with a thumping win over the Loons at Glebe Park. City simply blew Forfar away in the first half, with Andy Jackson grabbing a brace and Aron Lynas adding a third goal in a crazy 8 minute spell. Loanee Cameron Blues added the gloss to the win with a 4th goal eight minutes from time.

Forfar Athletic 2-0 Brechin City - 29 December 2018
The Loons cruised to a fairly straight-forward win in the last meeting between the sides at Station Park in December. John Baird opened the scoring on 19 minutes before Dale Hilson doubled the advantage for the hosts shortly before the hour mark.
