Despite the recent events that have affected the club in the last week, Michael O'Neill has been working hard to strengthen his pool just before the transfer window slammed shut at midnight on Thursday.

Iain Diack, who had previously signed a pre-contract agreement with Brechin to join in the Summer, has joined the club now from Berwick in exchange for a small fee and Stuart Callaghan.

Diack has played for a huge range of clubs in the lower leagues, and has scored regularly everywhere he has gone. Diack has played for Albion Rovers, Greenock Morton, Arbroath (Twice), East Stirling, Stenhousemuir and Berwick Rangers and has an excellent scoring record.

Iain was a constant thorn in City's flesh in all 3 previous encounters with Berwick this season, and in particular the two games down at Shielfield where he netted in the 3-3 draw and a brace in the 2-2 draw to deny City victory.

Stuart Callaghan goes the other way, ending a 3 year spell at the club. Callaghan signed from Alloa Athletic in January 2005 and helped the side win the 2nd Division Championship that season. Stuart has amassed 109 appearances in his time at Glebe Park, scoring 18 times. Stuart has served Brechin well and the club wish him all the best in his future career.

Michael Paton, whose appearance against Hamilton Accies has caused much controversy over the past 5 days, has extended his loan from Aberdeen until the end of the season. Michael has impressed in his short time at Glebe Park so far and netted his first goal for City against Peterhead last week.

Also signing on the eve of the transfer window closing was Nicky Walker, brother of City right back Richard. Nicky has signed from Stirling Albion and is a tricky right winger/forward. Walker joined the Bino's from Whitehill Welfare in the Summer but was deemed surplus to requirements at Forthbank.

Youngsters Chris Hughes and Chris Geddes have left the club to join Albion Rovers and Forfar Athletic respectively. Appearances have been hard to come by for both players and City wish them all the best.
