Scottish Cup Draw
- By

Brechin have been handed the most romantic tie of the Tennent's Scottish Cup First Round draw which was, ironically, made at lunchtime today at Glasgow University.
The University side are in the competition for the first time in over two decades have gained entry through the rigorous qualification process. The draw will pit City against the first University side they have ever met in a competitive match.
There is something of a precedent however in the early seventies, Brechin were drawn against Glasgow Corporation Transport at Glebe Park and eventually overcame the plucky bus drivers!! While it is obviously a potential banana-skin, Brechin fans will be delighted with the draw.
If City can get the better of the students, they face Stirling Albion at home in round two.
City will have high hopes of seeing off the students, but Stirling will want revenge for the 5-1 defeat of the weekend, and are a tough proposition at the best of times. However, at least the game will be at Glebe Park.
