Brechin City are delighted to announce the signing of striker Curtis Main who has joined the Club on a short-term deal until January.
The vastly experienced frontman arrives at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park having amassed over 500 career appearances, enjoying a long career at a good level both in Scotland and south of the border. A powerful and imposing forward, Main will provide Manager Andy Kirk with another valuable option in attack.
Curtis began his senior career with Darlington, before earning a move to the Championship with Middlesbrough. Further spells south of the border followed with Shrewsbury Town, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic and Portsmouth.
In 2018, Main made the move north of the border where he represented Motherwell, Aberdeen and St Mirren before the striker embarked on a new challenge with Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League for a season before returning to Scotland, where he has since represented Dundee and Ayr United.
In the second half of last season, Main joined Greenock Morton on loan and made a vital contribution on the final day of the campaign as his goal against Airdrieonians secured Championship survival for the Ton.
Manager Andy Kirk was delighted to bring a player of Main’s calibre to the Club, he said, “We’re thrilled to bring a player of Curtis’ quality and experience to the Club. He is an extremely professional player who has competed at the highest level and will add more forepower and strength to our front line.
“I’m excited to see the impact Curtis will have, not only on the team as a whole but also on the individual players around him.”
