It’s back to the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park this Saturday as City look to build on last weekend’s victory and keep up the momentum against Wick Academy.
The Scorries, who make the long journey south, will also be looking to continue their recent upturn in form following back-to-back victories over Rothes and Strathspey Thistle.
TEAM NEWS
After limping off injured against Inverurie Locos last weekend, skipper Euan Spark will join Dayle Robertson and Brad McKay on the sidelines. City will however welcome back Cillian Sheridan from suspension whilst Finlay Allan also returns after being unavailable due to his involvement with Dundee B in the KDM Evolution Trophy last week.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Following a hard-fought victory over Inverurie Locos last weekend, Manager Ray McKinnon commented,
“You never get any easy games up at Harlaw Park. Inverurie made it very difficult for us. It was really important we showed some great battling qualities.
“We’ve been getting setbacks every week. This time it was our captain Euan Spark going off injured in the first half but I felt the lads did really well.
“We spoke to the players at half time. They were told they had to learn how to win this game. Playing out from the back was getting us nowhere so we looked to play it more in their half and we did just that.
“You won’t win games effortlessly, you’ve got to go out and fight for it. We had to bring in a few players who were lacking in match fitness and they did really well.”

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 1-0 Wick Academy - 14th September 2024
City claimed a narrow but deserved 1-0 win over Wick Academy in the last meeting just over a year ago at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park.
The solitary goal came in the 17th minute when Scott Logan smashed in a close-range finish to register his first goal for the club.
Later in the half, Brechin had been awarded a penalty but Dayle Robertson’s spot-kick struck the bar.
The home side dominated possession and created a number of chances, though they were repeatedly thwarted by a compact, well-organised Wick defence. In the second half, Wick held firm and limited openings for Brechin, and despite continued pressure, the hosts couldn’t find a second.
