Following a 10 day break, City are back in action tomorrow afternoon as we play host to Forres Mechanics at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park.
City bounced back from 3 successive matches without a victory with a deserved 2-0 win over Huntly last midweek and they will be looking to build on that with another positive showing tomorrow.
City will come up against a Forres Mechanics side in buoyant mood, having thrashed Wick Academy 6-0 in the Prelimary Round of the Highland League Cup last weekend.
TEAM NEWS
City will continue to miss Dayle Robertson and Brad McKay through injury, whilst Adam Hutchinson is also sidelined after limping off against Huntly last midweek. Cillian Sheridan trained yesterday evening and it is hoped that he will be able to feature whilst Ray McKinnon is also hopeful of adding a loan signing ahead of the game.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the 2-0 victory over Huntly, Manager Ray McKinnon commented,
"The game against Formartine was a real unexpected result and we just needed to take that on the chin and perform better against Huntly.
"Every team raises their game against us - we handled Huntly for the first 25 minutes or so but then we took care of the game after that. We were unfortunate not to score another couple of goals on top of the 2 that we got - Finlay Allan in particular had a couple of really good opportunities in the first half.
"Despite the conditions I thought we did well in the second half and despite the blow of losing Adam Hutchinson early on in the game, I thought Kieran Sweeney and Euan Spark did well in the centre of defence which gave the team a good platform.
"Overall it was a deserved victory but we have another tough game tomorrow so we will need to make sure we are prepared properly. They've had some good results of late and last week showed that they have got goals in their team so we will need to be wary."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 2-1 Forres Mechanics - 22nd March 2025
City edged out the Cans Cans in the last meeting between the sides back in March. Mitch Taylor had opened the scoring for City late in the first half, only for Ryan McRitchie to equalise for the visitors ten minutes after the break. Mitch Taylor struck again just after the hour mark to ensure all 3 points stayed in Brechin.
