City have little time to dwell on their first league defeat of the season at the weekend as they are back in action against Huntly tomorrow evening eager to get back on track with a victory.
TEAM NEWS
Mitch Taylor is will return to the side having served a one-match suspension on Saturday whilst Wallace Baird and Finlay Allan will be available after featuring for Dundee B against Forfar Athletic at the weekend. Ben Armour is now back training and may be named in the squad. Dayle Robertson, Cillian Sheridan and Brad McKay continue to be sidelined through injury.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Manager Ray McKinnon was bitterly disappointed after City fell to defeat against 10-man Formartine on Saturday. He commented,
"It was a bit of a shock to the system to be honest. It was a great start to the game and we go 1-0 up, then we effectively stopped playing for the remainder of the game and their strikers ran us ragged - it was very disappointing. We've had a long chat with the players - there are no excuses and the performances have to be better if we want to win the league.
"Thankfully we have the opportunity tomorrow night to go and rectify things and get back on track. There is a long way to go and we need to get back to performing the way we are capable of."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Huntly 1-5 Brechin City - 28 December 2024
Dayle Robertson netted a hat-trick, with Ewan Loudon and Fraser Macleod also on target as City thrashed Huntly at Christie Park just after Christmas. Angus Grant had briefly made it 2–1, but City pulled away, with keeper Lenny Wilson also saving Grant’s penalty late on. The result sent Brechin top of the Highland League going into 2025.
