Match Preview | Rothes v Brechin City - By Steven Mew

City will be aiming to maintain their 100% start to the league season as we make the journey north to Moray to take on Rothes at Mackessack Park tomorrow afternoon.

With 12 goals scored and zero conceded from the opening 3 games, the message to the City players will be “more of the same” against the Speysiders who are without a point from their first 3 fixtures against Brora Rangers, Strathspey Thistle and Forres Mechanics.

TEAM NEWS
City will welcome Brad McKay back to the squad having missed the last 3 fixtures with concussion. The only definite absentee for tomorrow's fixture will be Dayle Robertson, otherwise Ray McKinnon should have a full squad at his disposal with Ben Armour and Bayley Klimionek continuing to work their way back to full fitness following recent appearances as substitutes.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the victory over Strathspey Thistle last weekend, Manager Ray McKinnon commented, "It's always nice to get off to a good start in the league and we've scored 12 goals and conceded none so that's very pleasing.

"Strathspey are a much-changed side - their two strikers are dangerous and they turn you a lot and test your back 4. They made the game very difficult are a much better side than they were last season - they came down to Brechin and had a go.

"I was delighted with us being 3-0 up at half time and we missed a big chance to make it 4 just after the break. For some reason the game just died a bit after that and the energy levels of both teams just dropped. We made substitutions to try and give the game a bit of spark but it just never happened and I was a bit disappointed that we were unable to add to our lead.

"The good thing is that we won 3-0 and did have chances to score more so we'll learn from Saturday and move on to the next game against Rothes."

With regards to possible additions to the squad, Ray added, "I'm always on the lookout to improve the squad and if we can, then we will. It's difficult to source better players than what we've got at the moment and there is no point in signing players who will not improve the squad so we will need to be patient."
