City will get their 2025/26 Highland League campaign underway tomorrow afternoon as we welcome Lossiemouth to the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park.
It's a carbon copy of the final fixture of last season and City will undoubtedly be looking to put a difficult Premier Sports Cup group stage behind them and grab 3 points to start the new season.
TEAM NEWS
Following a gruelling Premier Sports Cup stage against no fewer than 3 full time sides, several players will be assessed ahead of tomorrow's match. City will however welcome Fraser Macleod back into the squad having missed the last three fixtures through concussion whilst Mitchell Findlay also returns from suspension. City will also hope to include a new signing in the matchday squad, subject to SFA registration. Keep your eyes peeled on our website and social media channels!
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Following the midweek fixture against Cove Rangers, Manager Ray McKinnon commented,
"It was another tough game for us and we are down to a skeletal squad. We only had a couple of subs and one of them was a 16 year-old. We've had to play 4 games in the space of 10 days against full time opposition and I take my hat off to them because we've not been able to rotate at all and they've given me everything in these games.
"On Tuesday we had a chat at half time as we lost two cheap goals just before the break and the response was really good."
Looking ahead to tomorrow's league opener Ray added,
"Fraser Macleod will be back for tomorrow having been out with concussion and he's feeling fine whilst Mitchell Findlay will return from suspension but we're still going to be light on numbers. The situation will improve over the next 2 or 3 weeks. I do feel the Premier Sports Cup matches will stand us in great stead for the Highland League and that is our main priority."

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 4-1 Lossiemouth | 12th April 2025
The sides last met on the final day of last season and although City ran out comfortable winners on the day, they missed out on the Highland League title on goal difference.
Skipper Euan Spark headed City in front after just 4 minutes but Lossiemouth shocked the home support with an equaliser shortly before the break. City came out firing in the second half and goals from Ewan Loudon, Cillian Sheridan and Marc Scott earning the 3 points.
