The Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of former Montrose captain Paul Watson as a Player/Assistant Manager.

The vastly experienced midfielder joins City following a 13-year spell at Links Park which saw him make 387 appearances for the Gable Endies. A hugely popular figure during his at Montrose - his exceptional service was recognised with a testimonial last year.

He was part of the side that clinched the League 2 title in 2018, before clinching a spot in the Championship playoffs in 5 of the following 6 seasons.

Paul will divide his playing duties with assisting Manager Ray McKinnon for the coming season.

Ray commented, “I’m delighted to get Paul on board. He’s an experienced player who has had a great career. He’s now making the step into a coaching role and he’ll still do us a great turn as player. He’ll be a terrific asset for us.”
