- By
Steven Mew
City are in midweek action tomorrow evening as we make the short trip up the A90 for a crucial Highland League fixture against Banks O' Dee at Spain Park.
City's unbeaten run will be put to the test against a Dee side that have strengthened greatly over the summer, with former City players Nathan Cooney and Liam Duell amongst their recent arrivals.
TEAM NEWS
City are set to welcome back Marc Scott to the squad after becoming a father last week meaning Ryan Ferguson will be the only absentee.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the narrow win over Wick Academy at the weekend, Manager Patrick Cregg commented, "Despite the scoreline we still created plenty of chances, their keeper made two really good saves and of course we missed a penalty. On reflection, we could have been better and the group know that. Wick were well organised and it was difficult to get beyond their back line.
"If we score the penalty and go 2-0 up it probably knocks the wind out of their sails but unfortunately we didn't and they were always in the game, albeit without carrying a huge threat. Against Strathspey the moments went our way but against Wick they didn't.
"We could have been cleaner and crisper in our play but the objective before the game was to win and that's what we did - we aren't always going to have everything on our own terms.
"The injury to Scott Logan isn't as bad as first thought so that is a positive. He obviously scored in the game which was great for him."
Attention now turns to the fixture against Banks O' Dee tomorrow evening. Patrick said, "We will be going there to out-fight and out-duel them and look to get the win - their game plan is going to be the exact same. It's a game we are really excited for. We know we'll need to be a bit cleaner and crisper in our play to have the best chance of getting a result.

LAST TIME OUT
Both sides came away with narrow victories at the weekend. Despite their domination, City had to settle for a 1-0 victory at home to Wick Academy whilst a penalty from former City player Liam Duell earned all 3 points for Banks O' Dee away from home against Buckie Thistle.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 0-0 Banks O' Dee - 27th February 2024
The last meeting between the sides certainly wasn't anything to write home about as City missed an opportunity to stretch their lead over the Aberdeen side at the top back in February.
