MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the victory over Deveronvale in midweek, Manager Patrick Cregg commented, "I thought in patches we were really good but it was a tough game - at 1-0 Deveronvale had a couple of really good moments and fortunately Lenny has managed to make a good save. We didn't have everything our own way and we needed Lenny to have that moment. They asked us questions and at times we got stuck so it was a good learning curve for the group.
"Even before we scored I felt we should have had one or two goals but they gave us a real game and were good in transitions. It wouldn't have been unfair if we had gone in at half time a few goals up even though it wasn't quite as dominant as previous performances.
"Overall I am happy with the lads - that's two big wins this week and a clean sheet. Every performance isn't going to be crisp, clean and fluid, it's extremely difficult to do that consistently. Sometimes what you need to do is find a way to win and that's what we managed to do. In the end I felt it was a comfortable win and once we got the second goal I felt we could have possibly got another.
"Craig Tosh looked very lively when he came on and good for Ruari Henry to get minutes as well and he's been a really good find and he'll continue to grow."
Looking ahead to tomorrow's match against Buckie Thistle, Patrick added, "This is a game that we're really looking forward to - they're obviously the league champions and we're top of the table at the moment so it's a good advert for the league. The lads are very appreciative of the support that we've had and that will be very important on Saturday.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Buckie Thistle 2-1 Brechin City - 27 March 2024
City gave up valuable ground in the Highland League title race last season as they went down narrowly to the Jags at Victoria Park back in March. A fine run and finish from Ewan Loudon had given City the advantage at the break but second half goals from Max Barry and Jack Murray earned all 3 points for the home side.
