Match Preview | Fraserburgh v Brechin City - By Steven Mew

The top two in the Highland League go head to head tomorrow afternoon as City make the trip up to Bellslea Park to take on Fraserburgh.

The Broch, who have already defeated City twice at the Glebe this season, still have an outside chance of winning the league and will almost certainly need to win tomorrow to realistically stay in the title hunt.

Mark Cowie's side are in excellent form, winning their last 6 league however lost out on penalties to Brora Rangers in the Highland League Cup at Harlaw Park last weekend.

City defeated Wick Academy at Harmsworth Park last time out, with the midweek fixture against Keith falling victim of the weather. Gavin Price's side go into the final 4 fixtures of the season knowing that 10 points would be enough to clinch the league title.

TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without striker Sean Hastie whilst Marc Scott is likely to remain sidelined. Lewis Martin, who limped off against Wick Academy last weekend, may be fit enough to be included in the squad.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the hard-earned win over Wick Academy last time out, Manager Gavin Price said, "It was a crucial 3 points. I thought we started the game quite well and got the goal but then put ourselves into difficulty and let them back in the game which was disappointing. Second half was a struggle but we got there in the end and it was good to see two substitutes combining for the goal and that's the impact that you need from players at this stage of the season. Wick were stubborn defensively and very physical.

"At the end of the day the manner of the team was much better from the Buckie game and we need to do that from now until the end of the season. We need to make things happen, take more initiative in games and be up for the fight."

Winger Craig Tosh grabbed his first City goal which proved to be the all-important winner. Gavin added, "Craig has been patient and he came on against Clach a few weeks ago and did really well and he had a couple of chances when he came on against Turriff. He just needs a bit of confidence and hopefully the goal settles him down a bit - he was quite rightly buzzing about it afterwards and I think it will do him the world of good. He's got great strength and pace and we just need to use it in the right way."
