Match Preview | Brechin City v Brora Rangers - By Steven Mew

Subject to the Glebe beating the frosty weather conditions, City are set to welcome Brora Rangers tomorrow afternoon in a crucial Highland League fixture.

Following overnight frost and further low temperatures forecast for this evening, the club are currently monitoring the condition of the pitch with the potential need for pitch covers to go down this evening should the pitch thaw out sufficiently.

Manager Andy Kirk will be hopeful of having a full squad to choose from, with defender Euan Spark nearing a return to action following an ankle injury.

Speaking after the cup defeat against Inverurie Locos last time out, Manager Andy Kirk said, "It's as poor as we've been if I'm being honest - there were no real positives from the game whatsoever. The most disappointing thing is that it was a semi-final and it was a chance of getting to the final and competing for a trophy. We just didn't turn up - the first goal was a bit of a shambles and even the second goal there were too many poor decisions and clearances. Overall Inverurie deserved the win so we have to give credit to them - they played the game like a cup final and we didn't which is the most disappointing factor.

"The fact that the supporters are coming out in great numbers is fantastic for us and our performances this season have helped that number to grow. We have to keep putting performances in to keep them behind us. We are hugely appreciative of the numbers that turned up and everyone at the club is disappointed at the performance that we put in on the day."

"With football you get another chance quite quickly to put things right and we're now at the stage of the season where everyone needs to stand up and be counted. There are too many players at the moment not performing to the levels that they are capable of and you can't get away with that.

Tomorrow's match kicks off at 3pm. Admission prices are £10 for adults and £7 for concessions. Season tickets are valid.

The club are working alongside Fans Supporting Foodbanks who will be collecting donations of food prior to the game.

The aim is to help eradicate food poverty in Brechin and the surrounding area by collecting donations from fans at home games and distributing them locally. The donations will be collected from 1:45pm until kick off (3pm) at the Trinity Road entrance.

The City Club bar is being utilised for hospitality tomorrow however there will be a pay bar available in the Platinum Lounge from 1:45pm and again following the match.

Tomorrow's match referee is Dan McFarlane, assisted by Gordon Crawford and Stuart Stevenson.
