Match Preview | Brechin City v Brora Rangers - By Steven Mew

Subject to the Glebe beating the frosty weather conditions, City are set to welcome Brora Rangers tomorrow afternoon in a crucial Highland League fixture.

Following overnight frost and further low temperatures forecast for this evening, the club are currently monitoring the condition of the pitch with the potential need for pitch covers to go down this evening should the pitch thaw out sufficiently.

TEAM NEWS
Manager Andy Kirk will be hopeful of having a full squad to choose from, with defender Euan Spark nearing a return to action following an ankle injury.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Speaking after the cup defeat against Inverurie Locos last time out, Manager Andy Kirk said, "It's as poor as we've been if I'm being honest - there were no real positives from the game whatsoever. The most disappointing thing is that it was a semi-final and it was a chance of getting to the final and competing for a trophy. We just didn't turn up - the first goal was a bit of a shambles and even the second goal there were too many poor decisions and clearances. Overall Inverurie deserved the win so we have to give credit to them - they played the game like a cup final and we didn't which is the most disappointing factor.

"The fact that the supporters are coming out in great numbers is fantastic for us and our performances this season have helped that number to grow. We have to keep putting performances in to keep them behind us. We are hugely appreciative of the numbers that turned up and everyone at the club is disappointed at the performance that we put in on the day."

"With football you get another chance quite quickly to put things right and we're now at the stage of the season where everyone needs to stand up and be counted. There are too many players at the moment not performing to the levels that they are capable of and you can't get away with that.
