Match Preview | Brechin City v Strathspey Thistle - By Steven Mew

Following a month away from the Glebe, City are back on home soil tomorrow afternoon as we welcome Strathspey Thistle in the Highland League.

City will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the league season against a Jags side that currently sit bottom of the division with just one win to their name this campaign.

TEAM NEWS
City will welcome back Ewan Loudon following a 2-game suspension, whilst new signing Aubrel Koutsimouka should be named amongst the squad. The only definite absentee will be Euan Spark whilst Michael McArthur is doubtful.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the 3-0 win over Lossiemouth last weekend, Manager Andy Kirk said, "We'll take a start like that any day of the week as it doesn't come around that often! We've done it before this season at Turriff at the start of the second half. The players were on the front foot and Marc anticipated the error, won the second ball and it was a great finish on his left foot. I'd need to think back but I wouldn't imagine I've seen a quicker goal than that to be fair.

"Some of the saves the keeper made in the second half were excellent, especially from Botti's header. Credit to him - it was a fine display. We'd have liked to score more goals but we got ourselves in good areas and created plenty of chances. There were a lot of positives with Dom getting his first goal and also keeping another clean sheet."

Marc Scott was particularly impressive for City with Andy adding, "Marc scored 18 goals last year and he's a major attacking threat for us. It was great to see him getting a couple of goals and I've no doubt he'll end up with a decent figure at the end of the season again. He does so much for the team which the players and fans appreciate - he never stops, he works up and down the line, he tackles, gets forward and chases back. He gives everything and hopefully he can continue to bang in more goals for us."

Andy is keen for his side to remain focussed ahead of tomorrow's match against Strathspey, commenting, "The message doesn't change to the players - we're preparing this week for how we want to play and what we want to improve from last week. Regardless of the opposition, the attitude of the players this season has been different class. If we get our rhythm going, then I have no doubt that we'll have enough to win the game but the attitude has to be spot on and treated like the big game that it is."
