Match Preview | Brechin City v Clachnacuddin - By Steven Mew

It's the first of three consecutive home matches for City this month as we welcome Clachnacuddin to Glebe Park tomorrow afternoon.

Clach will be looking to bounce back from a bitterly dissapointing home defeat against strugglers Strathspey Thistle in midweek. The result saw the Lilywhites slip down to 15th place, with just 3 wins from their opening 14 matches.

Following a 4-1 win over Turriff United last week, Manager Andy Kirk will be looking for more of the same from his squad as they look to continue the unbeaten start to the league campaign.

TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without Hamish Thomson whilst Jordan Northcott has been ruled out for a number of weeks with a broken collarbone which was sustained in the match against Turriff last weekend. After only making the bench for the last few matches, skipper Jamie Bain could be involved tomorrow.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the win over Turriff United last weekend, Manager Andy Kirk commented, "Overall we looked comfortable and didn't look in any danger at all - it was just about getting that first goal. It was a terrific delivery from Grady and a great finish from Botti as he still had a lot to do. He didn't lash at the ball - he just guided it into the corner. I'm pleased for Botti getting another goal and he is starting to link up well with Grady.

City netted a goal just 7 seconds into the second half with a well rehearsed move. Andy added, "We are just trying to change what we do at kick off at times and we challenge the players a bit. There are so many factors involved with scoring a goal like that, including the timing of the run and the quality of the pass. The pass from Kieran Inglis was spot on, as was Grady's run forward. They had the confidence to go and try it and I'm delighted that it came off."

City welcome Clachnacuddin to Glebe Park tomorrow with Andy adding, "Clach had a poor result in midweek and they'll want to get that out of their system. Any team that comes to Glebe Park lifts their game and that's something that we have to deal with week by week. We've trained and prepared well this week and we're desperate to go out and put in another good performance and get the result.

"We're not looking too much at the table at the moment. It's great to be where we are but it's important to keep the momentum we have going and keep winning games. We can only control what we do and we've got some tough games coming up.
