City are in action at Glebe Park tomorrow evening as we take on West of Scotland side Darvel in the third round of the Scottish Cup, with the tie being screened live on BBC Scotland (7:45pm kick off).

City will be aiming to progress to the 4th round of the competition for the first time since the trip to Parkhead to face Celtic in January 2018.

Andy Kirk's side will come up against a vastly experienced Darvel outfit who are currently on a great run of form in the West of Scotland Premier Division. The Vale have won their last 7 league matches and have former City players Jordan Kirkpatrick and Ross Caldwell amongst their ranks.

City themselves go into the tie full of confidence, having won 13 of the last 14 matches in all competitions.

TEAM NEWS
City will continue to be without Luc Bollan who is sidelined with a dislocated shoulder, whilst Cammie Ross is cup-tied having played for Broxburn Athletic in a previous round. Manager Andy Kirk has also had discussions with parent clubs with regards to the availability of loan players.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the 5-0 win over Lossiemouth last time out, Manager Andy Kirk said, "It was a good performance, particularly in the second half. We spoke at half time about increasing the tempo and trying to do things that wee bit sharper which the players did. We had an away game on a heavy pitch in midweek and the players would have been feeling the effects of that so we're pleased - it was five goals and another clean sheet."

Michael Paton opened his account for the season with a fine strike for the opening goal, with Andy adding, "It was a great finish from Michael - a nice clean strike. He's got the technique to do that. His performances have been very good and he's been working hard for the team so I was really pleased for him to get a goal."

Looking ahead to the cup tie against Darvel tomorrow evening, Andy commented, "Darvel are a strong side - they've got a lot of good experienced players in their ranks so tomorrow night is going to be a tough game. We're on a good run of form ourselves and if we continue to put in performances like we have been then hopefully that will be enough on the night to get through.

"When you play in the cup you want to get as far as you can - if you can get through to the 4th round and draw a big team it can be financially rewarding for teams like ourselves. Darvel will be looking at it the same way."

Season ticket holders attending the last fixture against Lossiemouth should have received 3 x tickets to distribute to friends/family for a reduced entry price of £5.

Season ticket holders of other clubs looking for a Monday night football fix can also get in for £5 on production of their season ticket.
