Match Preview | Wick Academy v Brechin City - By Steven Mew

City will embark on the longest journey of the season this weekend as we make the 430-mile round trip to face Wick Academy at Harmsworth Park tomorrow afternoon.

TEAM NEWS
City Manager Andy Kirk will continue to be without the services of injured trio Garry Wood, Luc Bollan and Kevin McHattie.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Reflecting on the win against Huntly at the weekend, Andy Kirk said, "Saturday was a different challenge coming off the back of a really poor performance on the Wednesday. It was a game in which the players needed to put in a performance to put things right and the pressure was there to win the game. I was pleased with a lot of the aspects of our game which we haven't done particularly well over the last few weeks. We looked solid throughout - Huntly were limited to a couple of half chances from set pieces and we created plenty of chances. If we were a bit more clinical it would have been a different game."

On-loan Aberdeen youngster Jack Milne picked up the man of the match award on Saturday with Kirk adding, "Jack has a lot of attributes - his size, athleticism and is technically good on the ball. This is a big learning experience for him this year, playing competitive football. It's an opportunity to us to help him and with his performances recently he's been of real benefit to us. We're really pleased with Jack and hopefully he continues to improve throughout the season."

Looking ahead to a long trip to Wick, he commented, "We are preparing as well as we possibly can - we're travelling up today and staying in a hotel in Inverness. We want to be as professional as possible by travelling properly and ensuring the players are treated right so that they can give their all on the park. If we work as hard as we did on Saturday against Huntly then hopefully that will be enough to get us the result that we crave."
