City are on the road again tomorrow afternoon as we travel to face an in-form Albion Rovers side at the Reigart Stadium.
City will be hoping to replicate the performance and result from the last meeting between the sides in Coatbridge, where Michael Paton, then Caretaker Manager, led his side to a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Leeroy Makovora and Matty Todd.
They will have to be at the top of their game against a Rovers side that has enjoyed a real upturn of form, losing only once in their last 8 league games.
Tuesday's defeat against Annan Athletic meant City's status as 'Club 42' was confirmed and they will be looking to build some confidence ahead of a crucial playoff tie against either Brora Rangers or Kelty Hearts.
TEAM NEWS
After coming off injured in the first half against Annan Athletic yesterday evening, both Gerry McLauchlan and Player/Manager Michael Paton will be unavailable. Jonathan Page is also doubtful with a hip problem.
MANAGERS COMMENTS
Speaking following the defeat against Annan Athletic, Player/Manager Michael Paton commented,
"I thought we started the game positively but then losing myself and Gerry through injury as well as the opening goal was a real dent to the confidence. I would say apart from the first 10-15 minutes, Annan were the better team."
Looking ahead to a third match in the space of 6 days, Michael said,
"It's a tough ask for the players. They are having to ask their Managers (of their day jobs) to get away early twice a week which can cause grief and animosity but these guys are showing up. They only have a day recovery and then have to go again. We are having to prepare through text and video calls because we've not got the chance to get on the training ground. We need to approach the game against Albion Rovers game a lot better than we did yesterday - we need to show that we are still up for the fight."
MATCH OFFICIALS
Tomorrow's match referee is Steven Reid, assisted by Graham Chambers and Stephen Gill.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 2-4 Albion Rovers - 10 April 2021
City’s hopes of avoiding bottom place suffered a major setback as they were comprehensively beaten by then fellow strugglers Albion Rovers at Glebe Park earlier this month.
Lewis Wilson and Paul Gallagher had the visitors two goals up before Rory Currie halved the deficit going into half time. The Wee Rovers started the second half well and put themselves 4-1 up with further strikes from Ryan Stevenson and Callum Wilson. Michael Paton's delightful free kick in stoppage time proved to be nothing more than a consolation on the day.
