BOBBY BARR RETURNS - By Steven Mew

The Club is pleased to confirm the signing of winger Bobby Barr who returns for a third spell at Glebe Park.

The 32 year-old has penned a contract which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2021/22 season. The former fans favourite arrives from near neighbours Forfar Athletic where he has been a regular so far this campaign.

Having already acquired considerable experience in the shape of David Hutton, Gerry McLauchlan and Abdul Osman in the January transfer window so far, the addition of Bobby is no exception to this having made in excess of 400 senior appearances in the SPFL.

After coming through the ranks at St Johnstone, 'Bobbler' initially joined City on loan from Albion Rovers in 2009. A move to Livingston followed, during which time he helped the Lions to successive league titles before signing permanently for City under Ray McKinnon in July 2013.

His pace and trickery on the wing endeared him to the City faithful and he went on to make 80 appearances during his 2 years at Glebe Park, scoring 12 goals. Alongside team-mate Alan Trouten, Bobby was named in the 2014/15 PFA League One team of the year.

His impressive spell at Brechin saw him earn a move to full-time Greenock Morton in 2015 and in recent seasons has also represented Raith Rovers, Dumbarton, East Stirlingshire and most recently, Forfar Athletic.

Bobby has been assigned the number 10 shirt.

Manager Michael Paton commented, "We're delighted to be able to bring Bobby back to the club. He'll be another familiar face to the fans. Bobby still has a lot to offer - he's a real professional and he's a player that will create chances for the team as well as chipping in with his fair share of goals.

"It's another experienced player that will help strengthen the squad. He knows the plan here and he's excited to be on board - he is up for the fight."
