Ahead of tonight's league clash against Annan Athletic at Glebe Park, City boss Michael Paton has moved to sign striker Chris Paton following a successful trial period.

The 25 year-old, who stands at 6 foot 1, has been training with the squad in recent weeks and has featured in City's last three matches. Chris came agonisingly close to opening his account for the Club against Cowdenbeath on Saturday, but was denied by an outstanding point blank save.

As a youngster, Chris represented the likes of Celtic, Motherwell and St Mirren. He gained senior experience with Stirling Albion before making the move across to the USA.

Michael Paton commented, "Chris gives us a real presence upfront and can make great runs into the box - whether it's to meet crosses and scoring himself, or coming across defenders allowing others space for an opportunity.

"He is a good talker on the park, can link play and bring others into the game. He has a great attitude and has the interests of Brechin City FC at heart - he wants to help us improve and get to a better place."
