Betfred Cup Draw Reaction - By Steven Mew

City Manager Mark Wilson has given his reaction to the Betfred Cup group stage draw which will see his side come up against Premiership outfits in the shape of St Johnstone and Dundee United, as well as League 1 Peterhead and Lowland League champions Kelty Hearts.

Despite being handed a difficult group, the City boss is looking forward to the challenge ahead. He said, "I think it's a fairly exciting draw for us - it's probably the hardest group with the two Premiership sides in there but we'll look forward to the challenge.

"My old club Dundee United are doing well in the league under a new manager and it's pretty much the same for St Johnstone who will be tough opposition but it will be a good test for our players.

"There is obviously added interest with us playing against Kelty after everything that has been said and written over the past couple of months but I'm sure both teams and both sets of players will go about the game in a professional manner.

"Overall I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be a real test for us - especially when we are trying to re-build a new squad but it gives our players a good opportunity to go up against some quality sides. We'll obviously do our best to get as many points as possible from these four games and try and progress from the group."
