Albion Rovers v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City travel to Coatbridge tomorrow for what can only be billed as a 'must win' game against Albion Rovers if City are to avoid giving themselves a mountain to climb in terms of League 2 survival.

TEAM NEWS
Luke Watt will be unavailable for selection having picked up a hamstring injury in a bounce match against Aberdeen Under 20's in midweek. Otherwise, Mark Wilson will have a full squad to choose from.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Manager Mark Wilson reflected on the defeat last weekend, he said,"Sometimes you can paper over the cracks but I don't think anyone can hide the disappointment after the game last week. I didn't think we played well in the game at all - sometimes you can scrape through with a 1-0 win but to lose it with 7 minutes to go was a particularly sore one to take."

New signing Jimmy Scott netted on his debut in what was one of few positives on the day, Mark said, "Jimmy was a real plus point for us. He leads the line well and showed his strength upfront. He's going to be a really important player for us between now and the end of the season.

"We arranged a bounce game against Aberdeen Under 20's on Tuesday which was purely to get minutes for some of the players. Our new signings along with some of the guys who haven't played as much recently all took part so it was a worthwhile exercise.

"I think we have to consider tomorrow's match as a must win. When you look at the league table I don't think there is any doubt. We can't hide it from anybody just how important the game is. If we can get a positive result it would put us back in touch with the pack. It's not going to be pretty but we know as a team what we're going to be up against - we've prepared well this week and we'll go there looking to win the game."

MATCH OFFICIALS
The match referee tomorrow is Gavin Ross who will be assisted by Andrew McWilliam and Ross Menzies.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 0-0 Albion Rovers - 28th December 2019
City reduced the gap at the bottom of the table to just two points with a well earned draw at home to the Wee Rovers, but it could have easily been all three for City who spurned a number of good opportunities.
