Stenhousemuir v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

City travel to Ochilview tomorrow afternoon to face Stenhousemuir in a crucial 9th v 10th clash. The opportunity to leapfrog tomorrow's opponents with a win will be the only incentive Mark Wilson's side will require as they look to climb off the bottom of the table.

The Warriors, currently managed by Davie Irons, are currently on a torrid run of form with their win over City at Glebe Park at the tail end of November their only success in 12 outings.

TEAM NEWS
City will welcome back Luke Watt back from suspension, whilst Kieran Inglis will be available for selection after recovering from an illness. This means Mark Wilson will have a full squad to choose from with the exception of full back Christopher McLaughlin who remains sidelined with a knee injury. There is likely to be a new addition the squad ahead of the game, with any news announced on the website and social media once registration is completed.

MANAGER COMMENTS
Mark said, "The players know that they can come off the bottom of the table with a win. I thought we did well for over an hour last week against Cove and although there was a late collapse, I don't want the players to get too downhearted about that. I want them to take the positives from the 3 or 4 weeks prior and take it into the game tomorrow.

"It's a game in which we believe we can go there and get a good result and kick start the year. We understood Cove was always going to be a difficult game for us and if we got something out of the game it would have been a bonus. Matches like tomorrow are the ones we are looking to get something from and push on from there."

MATCH OFFICIALS
The match referee tomorrow is Chris Graham, who will be assisted by David Doig and Paul Timmons.

PREVIOUS MEETING
Brechin City 1-2 Stenhousemuir - 30 November 2019
City remained in a perilous position at the foot of League Two following a narrow defeat against fellow strugglers Stenhousemuir at a bitterly cold Glebe Park. Alan Cook opened the scoring for the visitors after 17 minutes before Ryan McCord levelled things up for City five minutes into the second half. Despite being a mere spectator for much of the second half, Lewis McMinn was beaten by what proved to be the winner from Dylan Dykes 20 minutes from time.
