AGM 2019 Report
Brechin City FC
Wednesday 10th July saw The Club’s 113th Annual General Meeting take place at Glebe Park.
Over 70 people crammed into The City Club to hear reports from The Management Committee reflecting upon season 2018/19 as well an assessment of the performance and current financial standing of The Club. Updates were also provided on the opportunities and challenges which face The Club going forward – in addition to a summary of the wide variety of off-the-field obligations, activities and initiatives.
This preceded a lively and positive Q&A session driven by Club Members posing questions on a range of topics.
The Management Team of Barry Smith and Stevie Campbell were also in attendance and this gave members an opportunity to hear their views first hand of the steps being taken to re-structure the playing squad for the season ahead.
In addition, the meeting saw Finance Director and former Club Secretary Angus Fairlie step down from the Management Committee after 17 years of magnificent service to The Club. He was thanked as his efforts were fully acknowledged by the members present, and then presented with a gift by Chairman Ken Ferguson to mark this outstanding achievement. In turn this saw club member Kevan Innes nominated to take a place on the Management Committee for the first time, whilst current Secretary Grant Hood, and Committee Member Anton Gerlings were re-elected for a further 3 years.
The meeting was closed with another presentation, this time from Vice Chairman Martin Smith to Chairman Ken Ferguson to mark the anniversary of 25 service on the Management Committee.
