Stranraer v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

For the second time in the space of 3 weeks, City make the long journey south-west to face Stranraer FC in another vital League One fixture tomorrow.

Despite going without a win in the last four outings, City can take heart from their performance in the 1-1 draw against Champions Arbroath last weekend, alongside the fact that they won on their last visit to Stair Park at the tail end of last month.

TEAM NEWS
Lewis Toshney will definitely miss out for City but the positive news is that his injury may not be as serious as first feared after being stretchered off against Dumbarton a fortnight ago. Also unavailable is Craig Thomson who was substituted early on last week against Arbroath with a slight hamstring strain. They will join fellow absentees Jordan Sinclair and Dene Shields.

Dougie Hill, who has been in excellent form of late for City, is likely to retain a starting slot after being coming off late on against the Lichties last week.

MANAGERS COMMENTS
Manager Barry Smith said, "We are looking to take more confidence from a good performance against Arbroath, as well as the fact that we went to Stair Park a few Tuesdays ago and came back with all 3 points. It's all to play for and the boys are up for the fight."

MATCH OFFICIALS
The match referee tomorrow is Mike Roncone who will be assisted by Ross Haswell and Michael McCart. This will be the second City game Roncone has officiated this season, having taken charge of the fixture against Dumbarton in August where City fought back from two goals down to win 3-2 at Glebe Park.

ADMISSION INFORMATION
Admission prices at Stair Park are as follows:

- Adults £15
- Concessions £10

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Brechin City 1-1 Stranraer - 29 September 2018
The first fixture between the sides this season saw a share of the spoils at Glebe Park in September. An inch-perfect 20 yard free kick from Callum Tapping had given City a half time lead, however Luke Donnelly struck late for Stranraer 5 minutes from time to earn a draw.

Brechin City 1-2 Stranraer - 23 February 2019
The Blues came out on top in the second meeting at Glebe Park - City took the lead through Euan Smith but an almost immediate reply from Innes Cameron levelled things up at the break. The winning goal came 20 minutes from time courtesy of a deflected Jamie Hamill free kick.

Stranraer 0-2 Brechin City - 26 March 2019
City came out on top in the last encounter between the sides just over three weeks ago in what a real 'six pointer'. It looked as if the match was heading for a stalemate before Andy Jackson popped in the 89th minute to convert from Tam Scobbies corner. Shortly after, Craig Thomson added the gloss to the win with a second deep into stoppage time against his former club.
