Brechin City v Raith Rovers - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

Following an enforced break due to the Scottish Cup last weekend, City are back in action tomorrow afternoon as we welcome 2nd placed Raith Rovers to Glebe Park.

The blank Saturday perhaps came at the wrong time for City who, in their last outing a fortnight ago, netted a last gasp winner to beat Dumbarton at the Glebe to give the club a real boost following a poor run of results.

Manager Barry Smith will come up against his former side, having left Starks Park at the start of September before taking over at City two months later.

Raith go into the game high of confidence following their excellent 3-0 win over local rivals Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup last weekend, with striker Lewis Vaughan bagging a hat-trick.

TEAM NEWS
New signings Lewis Toshney, Craig Thomson and Graham Bowman all come into the reckoning but City will be without Callum Hendry who has been recalled by parent club St Johnstone.

On the injury front, Jordan Tapping took a knock during the match against Dumbarton and despite playing on, he hasn't recovered sufficiently and will definitely miss out. There are also doubts over the fitness of two other players who will be assessed before kick off. Dene Shields, Ryan McGeever and Callum Tapping continue to miss out through injury.

MATCH OFFICIALS
The referee tomorrow is Euan Anderson who will be assisted by John McCrossan and Jonathan Bell. This will be the first City match Anderson has taken charge of this campaign, having last officiated in the 1-0 defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice last season.
