Brechin City - Peterhead Match Preview

Brechin City will play the first of two back-to-back home games tomorrow afternoon with the visit of Peterhead to Glebe Park followed by Stranraer next Saturday.

It's obviously hugely important that City pick up points from both of those fixtures and that will certainly be the overriding objective of manager Darren Dods and his players.

The manager rightly took positives from last Saturday's match at Dunfermline despite his team's 3-1 defeat and he will be looking for the players to show the same degree of spirit and determination tomorrow afternoon.

Despite City's basement position there is a good atmosphere within the dressing-room and the players are in no doubt that they are capable of getting themselves out of their current position. It won't be easy of course against Jim McInally's Peterhead side who are making their second trip to Angus four days following their excellent 2-0 victory over Forfar Athletic at Station Park on Tuesday night.

Jordan Brown and substitute Jamie Stevenson were on the mark for the Blue Toon that evening and they will be looking to make it an Angus double tomorrow.

City though will be hoping to replicate both the result and the performance in their previous encounter against Peterhead when they notched their first win of the season up at Balmoor Stadium on 19th September, winning that game by 3-2.

Manager Darren Dods will welcome both Willie Dyer and Craig Molloy back into his squad and apart from Ross Perry who will be out of action for a considerable period of time, the manager will have a full strength squad available.

The referee will be Gavin Duncan who has refereed only one City match this season, the 3-1 defeat from Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill at the end of August.

The match ball is sponsored by long-time friend of Brechin City, Lennie Johnson who will once again travel from his home in Lerwick to visit Glebe Park to take in the game.
