RANGERS V BRECHIN CITY MATCH PREVIEW
Ibrox Stadium – Saturday 10th August – Kick-Off – 12.45pm
Despite the disappointment of defeats against Peterhead and Stranraer, City will travel to Ibrox tomorrow morning in a positive and optimistic frame of mind for their opening league game against title favourites Rangers.
City will be looking to continue from where they left off at Stair Park when they almost snatched a point after being four goals down and they will be facing a Rangers side who will still be reeling after their shock defeat against Angus neighbours Forfar last Saturday. Off-the-field events at Ibrox following on from that defeat have hardly helped manager Ally McCoist in his preparations for this match but City will know that Rangers can be at their most deadly when in adversity and they will be well prepared for a Light Blue onslaught from the opening whistle.
City though have shown some really good touches in their previous two games and if they play to their capabilities they will definitely be capable of coming away with a good result.
Manager Ray McKinnon will have to do without the services of defender Graham Hay and midfielder Allan Walker who are both suspended for this match, and in addition, Ewan Moyes will also miss out due to injury.
Gerry McGlauchlan though will return after missing last week’s match at Stranraer because of suspension.
The man in the middle tomorrow will be former Scottish cricket internationalist George Salmond.
Rangers team information to follow.
For those travelling down to Ibrox by car, the post code for satellite navigation systems is G51 2XD.
According to the Scottish Football Ground Guide, the Albion Bar on Broomloan Road has been recommended by some fans for pre-match refreshments and there are a number of fast food outlets situated both within and outside the ground.
Car parking is available in a number of streets around the ground although City fans may prefer to park in the Albion Car Park which is a Secure Car Park charging £7 which is just a minute away from the stadium.
