Ray Mckinnon appointed Manager - By Brechin City FC

Brechin City FC Management Committee announce the appointment of Ray McKinnon as new manager.


Chairman Ken Ferguson said:

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Ray McKinnon to Glebe Park as our new Manager. Ray brings a wealth of coaching experience to the Club and we wish to thank the Scottish FA for their cooperation with this appointment. At the same time we also wish to welcome back Grant Johnson to the Club who will be helping with 1st team coaching duties.

Both Ray and Grant have a passion for the game and how it should be developed at a part time Club. We look forward to working with Ray and Grant in the times ahead. The first priority is obviously to improve our league position with the Club’s long term aim of build a community focused club forming an integral part of this appointment.”

I wish to take this opportunity to thank Jim Weir, Kevin McGowne, Andy Millen and George Browning for their work and effort over the past two years and a special word of thanks to Andy and Kevin for taking on the caretaker duties over the past week.

We also wish to thank everyone who applied for the job, the quantity and quality of the applicants was of an extremely high standard.

As a new chapter opens at the Club we trust that our supporters will give a strong welcome to the new coaches, with a run of three home fixtures we would ask the local community to come out and show their support for the Club and the players as we strive to improve our position in the league.”


Manager Ray McKinnon commented

“I am delighted to be the new Manager at Brechin City and I look forward to getting started and getting involved with the Club. I have heard nothing but good reports about Brechin City and I will give 100% effort to the job. I look forward to meeting up with the players and working with them to face the challenges that the second division offers. I will make no rash promises as there are good teams in this league with no easy fixtures ahead, I am confident however that given time and support of the local community that hard work and dedication can help us improve our league standing.”
