Arbroath-Brechin City Preview - By John Hoey

Arbroath v Brechin City Preview

City caretaker boss Andy Millen will still be without Gerry McGlauchlan, Craig Molloy and Ryan Stewart for the trip to Arbroath on Saturday.

Derek Carcary trained on Tuesday night and will train this evening and provided there is no reaction, Del should come into the reckoning for a place in the starting line-up.

Ewan Moyes who had to leave the field early in the second-half on Saturday didn't train on Tuesday night but Andy is hopeful that he'll be able to train this evening and as in the case of Derek Carcary, provided there's no reaction, he should be in his usual place.

The stand-in boss is under no illusion as to the difficulty of the task on Saturday.

" Arbroath are a good team," he said, " and we know that it will be a very hard game."

" We had a long talk with the players on Tuesday night and they fully realise that they haven't been performing to the level expected of them and it's really now up to them to turn things around and prove that they're a better team than the league table would suggest."

" Kevin and I have had a positive response from them on the training ground' and to be honest that's always been the case this season, but they have to take that into the game on Saturday and start to turn things around."

" The players know that whoever comes in as manager will be taking a long hard look at their capabilities so they have to start performing to the best of their abilities and give 100% if they want to impress whoever comes in as manager."

Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin has everyone available apart from goalkeeper Darren Hill who remains sidelined.

The Match Referee will be Gary Hilland.

As regards the managerial vacancy at the Glebe, chairman Ken Ferguson said this morning that the club had received a good number of applications and had been impressed with the quality of those who had applied.

" We haven't set a time-scale on an appointment," said Ken.

" We'll be looking very carefully at all of the applications and will make a further announcement in due course."
