Forfar Athletic 1 Brechin City 1

Match Report - By John Hoey

Forfar Athletic 1 Brechin City 1

Brechin City and Forfar Athletic shared the spoils in the final derby between the sides for the season.

It was a good performance from injury-hit City who were missing six first-team regulars.

The visitors had the majority of pressure and possession in the opening 45 minutes and they were unlucky not to take the lead shortly before the interval when an Allan Walker shot from just within the penalty-box came back off the post.

The Loons grabbed the opener seven minutes into the second-half when Dale Hilson picked up a short pass from Neil McCabe Nd drilled a low drive into the bottom corner of the net giving Graeme Smith no chance but City battled back and deservedly grabbed a share of the points in the 73rd minute when Craig Molloy who had an outstanding 90 minutes slipped a pass through to Andy Jackson who outstripped the home defence and slotted the ball past Rab Douglas in the Forfar goal.

It was a much improved performance from City after the disappointment of their lSt two games and the players can considers themselves really unlucky that they didn't win the match.
