Brechin City deservedly won the Angus derby against neighbours Arbroath at Glebe Park this afternoon.

Graham Hay scored the opener from the penalty-spot in the 39th minute after Andy Ryan had been brought down in the box by Lichties defender David Banjo.

City doubled their lead after 61 minutes when Ryan scored his first goal for the club after collecting a great pass from Steven Robb to slot the ball home.

Arbroath scored a late equaliser after 79 minutes when Alan Cook fired home a great shot from the edge of the box, but substitute Derek Carcary secured the points deep into injury-time when he volleyed home a superb Bobby Barr pass.
