Ayr United 1 Brechin City 2

Match Report - By John Hoey

Brechin City consolidated third position in the Irn Bru Second Division with a narrow but deserved victory over Ayr United at Station Park this afternoon.

Derek Carcary and Alan Trouten scored early in the first-half to give City a 2-0 lead at half-time and although Liam Buchanan reduced the deficit in the 61st minute Ayr were unable to get the eqaliser, their plight not being helped by the ordering-off of on-loan Dundee defender Neil McGregor for a second bookable offence after 74 minutes.

City are now undefeated in the league since their 1-0 loss to league leaders Queen of the South on 15th December last year.
