Brechin City 3 Dumbarton 3

Match Report - By John Hoey

Brechin City and Dumbarton shared six goals in an enthralling game at Glebe Park.

The Sons went in at the interval deservedly two goals up but City scored three goals in a blistering nine minute spell after the break to go in front but a goal deep in injury time rescued a point for the visitors

City should have grabbed the lead after only two minutes, but Jamie Ewings saved well from Derek Carcary.

City paid the price for this miss eight minutes later when the visitors grabbed the lead with a well taken goal.

A Mark Gilhaney cross from the left was headed on by Bryan Prunty into the path of Scott Agnew who hooked a superb shot high into the net and Dumbarton doubled their lead in the 28th minute.

Agnew delivered a great free-kick into the Brechin box and full-back Jamie Lyden timed his run perfectly to head strongly past a stranded Nelson.

City reduced the deficit five minutes into the second-half when substitute Fusco fired home from the edge of the box and they drew level five minutes later when McManus converted from the penalty-spot after Carcary had been brought down in the box by Alan Lithgow who was then sent off by referee Des Roache and McKenna put the hosts in front four minutes later when he cracked home a superb right-foot drive from just within the box.

However ten-man Sons battled on and they got their reward deep into injury-time when Agnew fired home a wonderful equaliser direct from a free-kick. (Jim Weir Post-Match Interview)
