Brechin City 0 Aberdeen 1

Match Report - By Match Secy

Brechin City missed a few first half chances, before finally succumbing to Derek Young's 30 yard strike at Glebe Park last night.

However, City had plenty chances of their own with Messrs Byers, Ward, Calum Smith and Janczyk all going close in the first half.

Aberdeen also hit the woodwork twice, but Brechin's performance drew great praise from Jimmy Calderwood who said: "I was very pleased with us getting another really togh game here this evening.

"Brechin tried to pass the ball and we know this is a good surface, because we play our reserve fixtures here. Michael should be pleased with the effort and commitment his side showed, they were unfortunate not to find the net."

Michael O'Neill added; "It was a great work out for us. One that really gave us a test and I think we had a lot of very positive performances. Ward, Dyer, Nimmo, and Byers can all be pleased with their displays especially in the first half."
