Brechin City are delighted to announce the signing of left-sided defender Greig Young following a successful trial period with the Club.
The 23-year-old, who is capable of operating anywhere down the left-hand side, has impressed throughout pre-season and started all three of City’s friendly matches as Andy Kirk’s squad stepped up preparations for the new campaign.
Greig began his career with Raith Rovers, where he progressed through the ranks and made a number of appearances in the Scottish Championship. During his time at Stark’s Park, he also gained some more experience with a loan spell at Elgin City.
Following his departure from Raith, Greig has gone on to represent Dumbarton, Kelty Hearts and, most recently, Tranent at the tail end of last season.
Speaking on the signing, Manager Andy Kirk commented, “Greig has been with us now for a few weeks and has really impressed and shown a great attitude during the pre-season games. He is technically very strong and has a real understanding of the game.
“Greig brings balance and quality to the left side and we look forward to seeing him perform this season.”
