Brechin City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of experienced midfielder Ryan Blair on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
Following long-term injuries to several midfield players in recent weeks, Manager Andy Kirk has moved quickly to bolster his options in the middle of the park with the addition of the 30 year-old who was most recently with Dumbarton.
A naturally left-footed midfielder, Blair began his professional career with Falkirk where his performances attracted interest from south of the border before earning a move to Swansea City. During his time in Wales, he returned to Scotland on loan spells with Falkirk and Dunfermline Athletic.
After moving on from Swansea, Blair has since enjoyed a successful career north of the border representing Stenhousemuir, East Kilbride, East Fife and most recently, Dumbarton. During his time at the Sons, he made 145 appearances and had been the club’s longest-serving player.
Ryan will go straight into the squad and will be available for selection for our Lowland League East opener against East Stirlingshire at Ochilview this evening.
