Dundee United academy graduate Nathan Cooney initially signed for the club on loan from the Tangerines during the 2021/22 season however a foot injury limited him to just 2 appearances.

Prior to his injury, Nathan had impressed Manager Andy Kirk enough to offer a permanent contract at the end of the season following his release from United.

During his time at Tannadice, Nathan also spent time on loan at Kelty Hearts, Raith Rovers and Elgin City where he gained valuable first team experience.
