A product of Rangers youth team, Sam made the switch to St Mirren in 2017 and played 3 and scored 3 for their Colts team in the 2018/19 Irn Bru Cup. He also made two substitute appearances for The Buddies' first team in the Premiership before agreeing a loan move to City in February 2019.
