Brechin City Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Andy McNeil on a permanent deal until the end of the season following his departure from Championship side Airdrieonians.
The move comes after Ruaridh Lynch was recalled by Dundee from his cooperation loan, prompting Manager Andy Kirk to act swiftly to secure a longer term solution in goal.
McNeil, 24, arrives at the Carnegie Fuels Stadium at Glebe Park as someone well known to Kirk. The pair previously worked together at Raith Rovers, where Kirk served as Assistant Manager.
McNeil has had three separate spells with Airdrieonians and during his time contracted to Raith Rovers, he also benefited from loan spells with Edinburgh City and Bonnyrigg Rose.
Manager Andy Kirk commented, “We’re delighted to get Andy on board on a permanent deal until the end of the season. Andy has had some previous experience of playing at a higher level and is a goalkeeper with good all round technical qualities. Andy is hungry to get playing games and we all look forward to working with him.“
