Brechin City FC is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Scientist to support our first-team management and players throughout the season.
This is an ideal opportunity for:
A university student studying Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning, or a related discipline.
• A recent graduate looking to build experience in a senior football environment.
• An experienced practitioner seeking a flexible, part-time role.
The Role
You will work alongside the coaching staff to help optimise player performance by:
• Monitoring player workloads and physical performance.
• Assisting with GPS and performance data analysis (where applicable).
• Supporting injury prevention and return-to-play programmes.
• Providing recovery, fitness and performance recommendations.
• Producing simple reports and insights for the coaching staff.
• Helping create an evidence-based performance environment.
Flexible Working
The role can be undertaken primarily remotely, with analysis and reporting completed from home.
Some attendance at training sessions and selected matchdays is preferred to build relationships with players and coaches and to collect performance data where required.
We are happy to work around university timetables or existing work commitments.
What We’re Looking For
• Passion for football and sports performance.
• Studying towards or holding a degree in Sports Science, Strength & Conditioning, Performance Analysis or a related subject.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of GPS systems and performance software is beneficial but not essential.
