Inverness CT v Brechin City - Match Preview - By Steven Mew

It's yet another midweek journey to the Highlands for City as they make the long trip to face John Robertson's Inverness side tomorrow evening.

TEAM NEWS
Manager Darren Dods has confirmed City's intent to lodge an appeal to have Paul McLean's red card against Falkirk rescinded. Successful lodging of the appeal should release 'Pabs' for the Inverness game, unlike Sean Crighton who will miss out on the clash in the Highlands along with the home game against runaway league leaders St Mirren at the Glebe on Saturday.

Despite the hard work of a number of outfield players in an especially tough second half at the Falkirk Stadium, no new injuries are reported with Euan Spark back in contention after serving his one match ban. Long term absentees Andy Jackson, Ryan McGeever and Craig Storie continue to miss out.

MATCH OFFICIALS
The referee for the game is Colin Steven. He will be assisted by Douglas Ross and Scott Leslie. This will be the 4th time Colin has officiated a City game this season - he took charge of the opening game against QotS at Palmerston in August as well as the narrow home defeats against Morton and St Mirren in October and December respectively.

ADMISSION INFORMATION
Admission prices are as follows:- £20 adults, £15 (16 to 25), £10 (Under 16's). Unfortunately the Supporters Club will not be running a bus to this fixture.

LAST TIME OUT
There was disappointment for City at the Falkirk Stadium at the weekend as they lost 3-0 with Sean Crighton and skipper Paul McLean seeing red before half time.

Inverness meanwhile impressively fought back from 2-0 down against St Mirren to earn a point at the Caledonian Stadium with Gary Warren and Liam Polworth on target.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS
It is fair to say that City have struggled against John Robertson’s men this season, having lost heavily in the first three meetings played this campaign. The sides clashed in the Betfred League Cup in what was the first competitive game of the season – Inverness ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium thanks to a rare first half double from defender Gary Warren, with George Oakley wrapping the game up in the second half.

The following month, Inverness were the visitors to Glebe Park - this time in the league. Both sides were still searching for their first Championship victory but it was the Caley Jags who got off the mark with a 4-0 win. A brace from Iain Vigurs and further goals from Brad McKay and Alex Cooper did the damage to City on this occasion.

It didn’t get any easier for City when they returned to Inverness at the end of November in a re-arranged league fixture. Darren Dods’ side suffered another 4-0 defeat with McKay, Baird, Bell and Oakley all on target for the home side.

It was a much tighter affair in the most recent clash at Glebe Park just before the New Year. A brace from Jordan Sinclair had City 2-1 up at the break. The visitors equalised through George Oakley and despite going down to 10 men after Tremarco saw red, Oakley scored again to earn all three points for the Caley Jags.
