Inverness CT v Brechin City: Match Preview - By Grant Hood

Darren Dods and his Brechin City squad head north for the second time in four days, as a resurgent Inverness Caledonian Thistle prepare to welcome the Glebe Park side to the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.

The players will no doubt be buoyed by securing a first competitive victory of the season at Victoria Park against Highland League Buckie Thistle. The nature of the win – a late winner from Isaac Layne – would be a sufficient boost in itself, but the fact that it subsequently secured a tie against Cup holders Celtic has already brought an energy and excitement to The Club.

Manager Dods is keen that his players take this ‘feel-good’ on to the park against John Robertson’s side, and make inroads into the current seven points gap between City and ninth placed Falkirk.

Although there are no new injuries to report, the side is likely to be freshened up from Saturday’s line up. Striker Andy Jackson and defender Ryan McGeever continue to be sidelined, but Aberdeen loanee Connor McLennan comes back into contention after having been declared unavailable for the Cup Tie.

Inverness CT come into the game in fine form, being undefeated in their last 7 league and cup games, and have already enjoyed two comfortable victories against City this season.

The match will be refereed by Craig Charleston, who visited The Glebe last month to take charge of the 1-0 defeat to Queen of the South.
