Brechin City - Alloa Athletic Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Alloa Athletic Match Preview

Brechin City will welcome Alloa Athletic to Glebe Park tomorrow night for what is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season for both clubs, the Scottish Championship Play-Off Final First Leg.

City supporters have no doubt been in an ecstatic frame of mind since last Saturday's memorable 4-3 penalties win against Raith Rovers a match which will live long in the memory of all who were fortunate enough to be there, with one final hurdle now to overcome if the club are to progress to the Championship next season.

Matches against the Wasps have invariably been close, competitive and hard-fought this season with the exception being the last encounter between the sides when Alloa ran out comfortable 6-1 winners at the Indodrill Stadium. However, that match is now firmly in the past and City will be looking to continue the form that saw them overcome Raith Rovers in the semi-final.

As far as team news is concerned, both Alan Trouten and Ally Love who made such a positive impact when they came on late in the second-half on Saturday have both been passed fit to play while Dougie Hill who missed both matches against the Fifers is rated at 50-50. Gareth Rodger, Darren McCormack and Euan Smith remain on the sidelines.

The players were hugely appreciative of the fantastic backing their supporters gave at both Raith matches and it is hoped that as many people as possible will come along and add their encouragement tomorrow night. It was palpable just how positive an impact the tremendous vocal support from the fans had on the players at Raith and it would be tremendous if as many Brechiners as possible came out tomorrow night and swelled the numbers in the home support to be that 'extra man' the players so richly deserve.

The Club have reduced Admission charges at tomorrow's match both as a thank you to their loyal supporters and as an added incentive to hopefully encourage as many folk as possible to come along. Season Ticket holders are reminded that in accordance with established Club protocol, their tickets will not be valid for tomorrow night.

Admission Prices are :-

Adults - £10
Concessions - £5
Under 16's - FREE

Supporters of both clubs will be welcome in the 1983 Hospitality Lounge before the match with the Lounge open from 7.00pm.

The referee for tomorrow night is Euan Anderson who will be in charge of his first City match of the season.

The Brechin City Supporters Club will be running a bus to Saturday evening's return leg at the Indodrill Stadium with the bus departing from the usual St. Ninian's Square departure point at 1.00pm. Please contact William (07925227826) to book your seat.
