Brechin City - Alloa Athletic Match Preview
Brechin City boss Darren Dods looks like he'll have one enforced change to make for tomorrow night's eagerly anticipated clash against Alloa Athletic at Glebe Park. Gary Fusco who had to come off against Queens Park on Saturday with a groin strain is struggling to be fit with Elliot Ford, Gareth Rodger and Darren McCormack all on standby should he fail to make it.
Both sides have been in a good run of form lately and the incentive to win is clear for both. From City's point of view, a home victory would edge them to within three points of the Wasps who sit a further nine points behind leaders and title favourites Livingston but conversely an Alloa win would see them extend their current points advantage to nine.
While City were sharing the spoils with Queens Park, extending their unbeaten run to four games, Jim Goodwin's men were being held to a 0-0 draw at East Fife who visit the Glebe this coming Saturday and that point ensured that the Wasps continued their recent fine run, their last league defeat occurring way back in mid January when they went down to a 1-0 home defeat from Peterhead. Tomorrow night's game therefore promises to be an intriguing and attractive clash with both sides enjoying a 'purple patch' and it is hoped that there will be a bigger than normal home support to encourage the players onto victory.
