Brechin City - Airdrieonians Match Preview

Brechin City manager Darren Dods may have to make one change from the team that completed back to back victories over Queens Park and Peterhead for the visit of Airdrieonians to Glebe Park for tonight's rearranged League One fixture.

Dougie Hill who has been such a commanding figure at the heart of the City defence had to come of at Balmoor Stadium with a knee injury midway through the second-half and the manager rates his chances at no more than 50/50. If Dougie fails to make it, Gareth Rodger who replaced him on Saturday looks odds on to deputise again. Alan Trouten who had to sit out Saturday's game after picking up a groin strain in training is also struggling to be fit to face the Diamonds as City attempt to extend their winning run to three matches, leapfrogging tonight's opponents into fourth place in the table.

While City were winning up at Balmoor, a last-minute goal from Sean McIntosh netted a vital win for Airdrie in a seven goal thriller against Albion Rovers at Cliftonhill. The Diamonds now lead City by just a solitary point and with third placed East Fife only a further couple of points in front of Airdrie the incentive for both sides this evening is clear.
