Brechin City - Alloa Athletic Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Alloa Athletic Match Preview

With no fresh injuries to report following Tuesday night's victory over Queens Park and Alan Trouten available again after serving his two-match suspension, it remains to be seen whether manager Darren Dods will make any changes to his starting line-up when second placed Alloa Athletic come calling at the Glebe tomorrow afternoon.

The manager was obviously pleased with the performance and result against the Spiders and he will be expecting his players to show the same levels of commitment and application against the Wasps that they displayed on Tuesday night.

With just eleven matches of the league programme remaining and only nine points separating Airdrieonians in third position from bottom placed Stenhousemuir, every single point will be vital in the run-in and as Darren correctly pointed out in his post-match comments on Tuesday evening City must endeavour to take full advantage of the fact that six of those eleven matches are at home.

It would be fantastic if City were to keep up the good work against Alloa who will be on a high after a comfortable 3-0 home victory over East Fife at the Indodrill Stadium on Tuesday night. Although Alloa deservedly won the previous encounter at Glebe Park by 1-0 with a Jason Marr goal, City returned the compliment on Christmas Eve at the Indodrill Stadium when goals either side of half-time from Alan Trouten (pen) and Ally Love cancelled out a goal from former City striker Jordan Kirkpatrick.

The players will obviously take heart from the way they stuck to the game plan against a good Queens Park side on Tuesday when their work-rate was hugely impressive and having won the previous joust between the teams they will go into the match confident of a good result if they play to their capabilities.
