Brechin City - Airdrieonians Match Preview - By John Hoey

Brechin City - Airdrieonians Match Preview

Brechin City will be hoping to take the form they displayed in the closing 45 minutes last Saturday against Stenhousemuir into tomorrow's home encounter against Airdrieonians. The City players will be determined to go one better against the Diamonds and reduce the points deficit between the sides to just one also bearing in mind that they have a game in hand against Mark Wilson's men.

Both of the two previous meetings between the teams this season have been close and competitive with City edging out the Diamonds by a single goal in a five-goal thriller at the Glebe in September while one goal was enough to clinch victory for Airdrieonians in the corresponding fixture at Excelsior Stadium a couple of months later.

With City coming from behind to earn a draw last Saturday, it was a similar story for the Diamonds who also had to come from behind before disposing of Peterhead, scoring all of their four goals in a blistering second-half performance after ex City striker Rory McAllister had given the Blue Toon a 1-0 half-time lead.

Manager Darren Dods will be without long-term injury victim Euan Smith while Ally Love will be serving a one-match suspension but everybody else is fit
