Everything to Play for at Glebe Park - By Brechin City FC

Chairman Ken Ferguson hopes to see increased attendances at Glebe Park as the Club return to Brechin after a four week absence.

Ken said ‘A combination of a postponed fixture and Scottish Cup Saturday have kept the team away from our home ground since 2nd January when Peterhead came visiting. During that time we have battled to get players back from injury and into contention. It was a very welcome sight to see Andy Jackson & Chris O’Neil return to the starting lineup last Saturday at Livingston and with James Dale and Darren McCormack on the bench the Manager at last has selection options available to him.
The lack of home fixtures has the knock on effect of greatly reducing the Clubs income whilst still having to meet the regular expenses of wages, running costs etc. We have also been hit with some additional expenses in the form of an operation to a key player and repairs to ground maintenance machinery all of which makes finances tighter than planned at this stage of the season.
Despite the injury setbacks we are still in a good league position sitting 4th in a play-off position with a game in hand on the team above. With 1st playing 2nd and 5th playing 6th in the league Saturday has all the signs of being a pivotal day in the league campaign. It is vital therefore that we get behind the team to show our support for the players for both of the next two home games. I would ask all our supporters to consider coming along to Glebe Park and to bring a friend, we quite simply need the support of the town to help us maintain our league challenge.’
